The Camper is a classic 6-panel ball cap. This unstructured, unlined cap features a narrow band and low crown and can be worn by both men and women. The cap is based on a sample cap I made in 2012 for a photo shoot. The cap was never fully finished, but I lent it to friends to wear and wore it myself on many occasions. It sat on a car dashboard for a week, accompanied me on a couple camping trips, and even floated down the Buffalo River after a canoe flipped. Still, the cap held up beautifully and only became more attractive. The canvas-stiffened peak is incredibly malleable and can be worn a number of ways. It can safely be rolled to be stuffed into a pocket or bag.
If your waxed Camper becomes soiled, I recommend brushing off debris, or wiping with damp cloth. Air dry.
Do not use soap on waxed cotton, as it will remove the waxy finish. If your waxed Camper becomes dry, redress with Martexin Original Wax.
fit + sizing
To properly determine your cap size, measure the circumference of your head at the widest part, or where your caps generally sit, using a soft measuring tape or string and ruler. See the chart below to determine your size. (Measurements are all +/- 1/8")
I recommend buying a cap that will fit snug (not tight) upon the first wear. With just a little bit of time, the cap will shape and mold to your head, providing the perfect, comfortable fit.
*Everyone wears his or her cap differently and every manufacturer has different size specifications. I developed my size chart based on inch measurement with 3/8" increments between sizes.
